How Do I Become A Chi Alpha Epsilon Member?

To be eligible for membership, candidates must be a Groups Scholars student, must complete a minimum of three full-time semesters, and must have received a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 held for two consecutive academic terms.

Why Should I Join Chi Alpha Epsilon?

XAE was formed to recognize the academic achievements of students admitted to colleges and the universities through non-traditional criteria and serves developmental, Student Success Services (SSS), McNair Scholars, and Educational Opportunity Program students (programs such as GROUPS)

As a member of the honor society, you will serve your community and acquire like-­minded friends. Additionally, upon fulfilling the membership eligibility criteria, members will also: 


• Be able to note their membership on resumes, job applications and graduate school admission applications

• Be able to develop leadership skills and abilities by serving as an Executive Board member

• Be able to purchase official XAE pins, jewelry, shirts and other logo merchandise

Are Members Required To Attend Any Events Held By XAE?

As general members, you are required to attend general meetings, community service, and fundraising events. However, the allowance to miss events varies per semester.

It is your responsibility to contact any of the Executive Board Secretary two weeks prior to missing out an event and one week prior to miss a general meeting.

If you have to miss a whole semester of the general meeting for a specific reason, it is your responsibility to contact the Chi Alpha Epsilon Advisor and Executive Board Secretary in an email.

When Are The General Meeting Held?

Chi Alpha Epsilon General Meeting are held during the 3rd week of every month. Specific day of the week varies upon majority votes prior to new semester. 

Due to the COVID-19 variant, our events will be hosted through Zoom until further notice. The Zoom link will be shared to the XAE General Body Members GroupMe weeks in advance prior to meeting.
